Ever been struggling to reach keenness with your coticule ?
Well try this tip it should make a big improvement, Set a fresh bevel on your straight razor then go through your usual dilucot routine, when your just on plain water do a set of half strokes with moderate pressure then a set light pressure.....rinse the hone and do 50 lightest pressure X strokes then minimum 60/60 linen leather. This should give at least a HHT (hanging hair test) 4/5 and a great coticule shave.
If you find on the shave test that the razor is a little harsh it's no problem you just have to dial back the edge a little, to do this just do maximum of 3 strokes with your slurry stone across the hone to create a very thin hint of slurry almost invisable and do 30 to 50 very light X strokes after that back to 60/60 linen/leather and that will make a fine coti shave.
You may be thinking that this sounds like a lot but its practically impossible to "over hone" on a coticule.
Hope this tip helps out, give it a try.
