A fine near NOS condition vintage Gotta straight razor

This razor took some work getting to shave readiness, it had quite a frown near the heel due to improper honing/stropping. I had to 'bread-knife' the edge to set it straight , once that was done take some time setting a complete new bevel.

Puma 1938 5/8 - Another very easy razor to hone, this was done on my coticule Les Latneuses Hybrid ending in a very nice smooth coti shave.

Welcome to Razor Guy Barbers, here you will find the most competitive prices around for top quality work.
What does shave ready mean?
Shave ready simply means the razor's edge can effortlessly and smoothly cut through hair whilst shaving, with no discomfort, dragging or razor burn.
Factory new razor claim ‘shave ready’ but in reality isn't shave ready — here’s why.
Many people buy a new razor and are on the understanding that the razor is ready to shave or ‘shave ready’, when in fact the razor may still need to be honed by hand to get it absolutely ‘shave ready’.
At the factory the last processes on the blade are done using grinding wheels and belts. they do not leave a true shave ready edge, these razors are still sharp and may shave but the resulting experience from shaving with a factory edge could be very unpleasant, the razor would pull, the shave would not be very smooth and you could suffer from razor burn.
This is due to the fact that there is a very large difference in an edge created at the factory using grinding wheels and belts compared to an edge created by an expert finishing off the process using time honoured hand techniques and using the finest hones available.
